Exclusive & Sustainable Design from Vienna

NEUVERMOEBELT® was founded in Vienna in the summer of 2018 by Manuela Freigang and architect Christian Bachmann.

As a design studio with its own joinery and furniture production, we develop and manufacture furniture, kitchens and interior solutions with a strong focus on durability, material quality and resource-conscious design.

An essential part of our creative process is developing concepts and prototypes directly in our Vienna workshop and producing them ourselves. This approach allows us to create solutions where design, function and materiality come together with precision – flexible, high-quality and tailored to individual needs.

What began as the creative transformation of existing furniture evolved over the years into a holistic approach to long-lasting, resource-conscious interiors and furniture systems.

From IKEA redesigns to individually crafted kitchens and furniture made from bamboo, linoleum, wood and other durable materials, our work focuses equally on rethinking existing systems and developing new ones.

Through projects such as the Tiny Kitchen and modular furniture systems, we increasingly focus on repairable products, consciously selected materials and circular design principles. We believe in furniture and spaces that are not driven by short-lived trends, but are made to last and to be lived with over time.

Together with our showroom, our workshop forms the heart of our studio — a place where design, craftsmanship and material innovation meet. Having our own production allows us to develop, test and realize ideas with precision — from IKEA fronts and redesigns to bespoke kitchens, Tiny Kitchens and individual interior solutions.

“What works good is better than what looks good, because what works good lasts.”   —  Ray Eames

Manuela Freigang

Interior Design, Scenography, Art & Sustainable Design

For many years, Manuela Freigang has worked as a production designer and scenographer, incorporating IKEA furniture into film and theatre projects. Billy, BESTÅ & Co are classics of the Swedish furniture brand — functional, affordable and thoughtfully designed, yet rarely truly individual. This became the starting point for rethinking and transforming existing furniture through design.

Today, we are experiencing a shift in the way we think about resources, materials and consumption. More and more people are looking for durable, resource-conscious products — objects with history, quality and character.

At the centre of Manuela’s work lies not replacement, but reinterpretation: preserving, improving and reimagining what already exists. The result is furniture and spaces with individuality, longevity and a more conscious relationship to resources.

Time is running.

Christian Bachmann

Architecture, Material Expertise & Technical Realisation

Over several decades, architect Christian Bachmann realised numerous residential and architectural projects in Vienna and its surroundings together with BACHMANN & OBERWEGER ARCHITEKTEN ZT GMBH.

Among them are large-scale housing projects such as the KIBB Hoch Zwei residential tower in Vienna’s Nordbahnviertel (1020 Vienna) and the temporary cultural venue BRUT Nordwest (1200 Vienna).

After nearly 30 years in architectural practice, his focus gradually shifted towards furniture, materiality and design.

For Christian, good design is never only about aesthetics, but equally about function, material quality and long-term usability. Today, his architectural expertise informs the development of kitchens, furniture, interior architecture and construction details.
